Laurie Anderson’s ‘Heart of a Dog’ out later this month

Laurie Anderson Heart of a Dog

I only heard about this album in an email from Nonesuch records. So I pre-ordered it almost immediately. I’ve no idea of what to expect from it, except of course that it will be interesting and beautiful and thought provoking.

So I’m looking forward to it a lot, and may, as a result, go over some of Laurie Anderson’s previous works in advance of hearing it.

Big Finish’s ‘The Doom Coalition’ due tomorrow …

I have to say that Big Finish have got a fantastic line up for the next few months. Tomorrow ‘The Doom Coalition’ comes out, then between now and the end of the year they’ve got:

  • The War Doctor
  • A new UNIT series
  • The next episode of Survivors
  • The Time War (a prequel to the War Doctor)
  • and let’s not forget, Torchwood episodes too

So loads to look forward to, and I am.

Old bits of ‘art’ made with NinerPaint on the Palm OS

I hadn’t seen these in a long time and when I did I thought I’d put them here so you could see the kinds of things I used to do with NinerPaint which was a great art app for Palm OS. So far I haven’t found anything similar in the iOS world. Or perhaps I just haven’t looked hard enough?

That could be it of course, and I should perhaps have another look at some point.

Soon it will be Movember …

Indeed. It’s not long to go at all now. Just a few weeks before the process begins for another year. I’ve started doing some research into different mustache types to go for. Initially I had thought about the monkey tail, but I’m not sure now. It’ll be quite hard to pull off and will almost certainly be something that’ll attract attention.

So I think I need to spend a bit more time in thinking about what to go for this year. I’ll be refreshing my page at Movember, and posting about it fairly regularly throughout the month.

And it’s been a bit of a generative day over at PalmSounds

Today has been a bit of a day for my friends over at Intermorphic. Today marks 25 years that they’ve been in generative music, and that’s a pretty amazing achievement in my book. So I’ve been remembering some of the high points from my perspective over at PalmSounds today. I thought it was something that should be marked.

Romotive no longer selling the Romo?

I had a recent look at the Romotive web site and noticed that there’s a banner saying that the product is no longer for sale. That doesn’t look good to me. It sounds like they’re not going to be doing Romo anymore, or at least not in its current form. I hope that they’ll continue to do something with robotics as they were really good and I’ve had a lot of fun with my Romos.
