There’s a new Olegtron 4060 plug in board! Who knew?

When I say new, of course I mean, there’s a plug in board. This is a first. Sadly on the Olegtron 4060 site there’s no word about how to buy one of these. Which is a shame as I’d love to get hold of one. So I’ve contacted them to find out and hopefully get hold of one for myself.

Thinking about a sound diary

When I was listening to some of my older field recordings I remembered that I’d tried to do a daily recording a couple of years ago. It didn’t last very long sadly. It was a difficult trying to find something every day that was going to be interesting, but it was a good discipline to try for.

I don’t think that I’d be able to maintain a daily field recording diary in 2016, but perhaps weekly might be more achievable? I’ll try it out and see.

Short Trips, The Black Dog

The Black Dog
The Black Dog

I was skeptical about this audiobook as I thought it would just be too short get a real story going. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Even though it was short, only 35 minutes long, it was great. A good, self contained Doctor Who story. Well narrated by Louise Jameson too.

So I might need to look into a few more of these short trips stories now.

Seeing Star Wars The Force Awakens (no spoilers)

Well at last I went to see the new Star Wars film. I went to the iMax at the Science Museum, which is a brilliant place to see the film and a lovely venue all in all.

In some ways I was quite nervous. The original films were a big part of my growing up. The three ‘newer’, or ‘rubbish’ films were such a disappointment that I don’t really count them as Star Wars films at all. So I was worried that it wouldn’t meet expectations. However, it did. I really enjoyed it.

I won’t mention anything about the plot here or give anything away. I think that’s quite an unpleasant thing to do, especially to fans. But it really is a great reboot of the franchise, and a good signal that it’s back on the right track now. I’m glad it’s back.
