someone who's doing some things
As it is Guy Fawkes night it is my tradition to watch V for Vendetta, which I think was an excellent film. It had a solid message and a really engaging story. I find that every time I watch it I find something new, or understand it just a little more, and I like that. Each time I also want to go deeper into the story.
Last year I read the original book, which is also excellent. So I might read it again.
I think it’s important to remember that this isn’t just fireworks night, as so many people seem to have fallen into calling it, but it is in fact the day when we celebrate Guy Fawkes and what he stood for. It is Guy Fawkes night
I think it’s important to point out, and important to remember.
Whilst this type of band / music isn’t my usual cup of tea, I have to say it was a great show, and, whilst I probably wouldn’t run out and buy a CD of the music, I did enjoy it.
Just another little reminder about this event will be completely amazing, or at least I hope so anyway. It’s starting to shape up now and really come together.

Just thought I’d post these two side by side.
I went to see Bare Conductive the other day to talk to them about the SoundLab event we’re running at NESTA later this month. Bare Conductive is just one of so many companies who are being super helpful.
I’ve been a fan of Bare Conductive for a long time now and they’re doing even more interesting things with the TouchBoard and conductive ink. I hope to be able to show you what I’m doing with the TouchBoard and how we’re going to use it at the SoundLab playspace event, so expect some more posts on the subject soon.
I used to have one of these ages ago and it was incredibly useful. But sadly I got rid of it. Why? Good question, I’m not even sure now. But I needed a new one even though I had the V4 as well. The big difference with the V3 is that it has its own power from a little PP3 (9v) battery inside. That means that it can power devices that draw vampiric MIDI power, such as the two MIDI vampires I’ve got.
All in all a very useful device indeed.
I haven’t used the Pebble Time music app that much to be honest, but the other day when I did I found it to be really useful, almost like a tiny second screen for my iPhone. It was funny to see my own name and track on there though.
It makes me think that I should really explore what the Pebble could do a bit more.
I’ve been waiting for this one ever since the last release back in June. I’m so pleased that they released it and kept the story going. If this is anything like as good as the last 2 releases it’ll be amazing. When I’ve listened to it I’ll let you know the verdict.
I’ve always been interested in space. I’ve always been interested in the history of it and this exhibition reminded me about a lot of the things I’d heard about and lived through in the 70’s. When the space race was at its height, when the USSR was launching Soyuz missions and the Salyut Space Station was being used. There was so much good stuff in there, so many interesting artifacts.
It was exciting. It was amazing, and this exhibition took me back there and reminded me a lot of what it had been like when those events happened. I think it’s also given my interest in space a bit of a nudge too. I’ve always been interested, but I haven’t done much about it for a long time. Perhaps I should now, perhaps I will.
