Science Museum: Churchill’s Scientists

It feels like it was ages ago. This was another little exhibition in the Science Museum that I had a look at a week ago. Very interesting especially as I’ve just been reading Churchill’s history of the second world war. There was quite a lot of information that I didn’t know in there and some very insightful context too.

If you’re interested in going along it’s where the Alan Turing exhibition was a while back. If that makes sense at all.

A final plug for my interview with Marc from Disquiet

I have posted about this before, and this is going to be the last plug I give for it, so forgive my shameless self promotion. But I was very pleased to have been asked to do it, and for it to have been published in the end, so here’s a last link for it. It’s on the Disquiet site now, go take a look.

Music Tech Pitch 4.5, November 2015

So another MTP4.5 goes by. This one was really good. I had a great panel of judges and an a great bunch of start ups who were pitching. The debate and questions were insightful and I think that the start ups all felt that they’d had a good chance to get their ideas across.

Interestingly the audience and the judges winners were identical this time, which I’m not sure I’m seen happen before.

Processing 3 and the new sound library

The last time I used Processing I was messing around with the minim library for sound. Now, in version 3, there’s the new sound library and it looks (and sounds) amazing!

I’ve only played with it a little but so far the example code looks really straightforward to read and understand. I might even start making a few things myself! Who knows.

I have to thank a very special person for their support of Movember. Erik is a developer who’s apps have given me a lot of enjoyment, and once again he’s using them to support Movember.

You can check out what he’s doing here. If you’re interested in seeing my Movember page it’s here, please take a look.

Getting to grips with Processing 3

I’ve been getting back into Processing 3. As I said when it first arrived, it’s been a while since I made things with Processing, but this version looks so much better than what’s gone before. Installing libraries and tools is now just so easy. It’s amazing. It feels like I really need to get back to making some stuff with Processing again.
