Doctor Who: The Guardians of Prophecy

GuardiansofProphecy-FORWEB[1]

I actually quite like the 6th Doctor stories these days, and this one is pretty good. It is sort of a sequel to The Keeper of Traken. I can see how it is sort of a sequel, but not entirely. That doesn’t make sense unless you know both stories though.

Anyway, irrespective of whether or not it is a sequel, it’s not a bad story entirely on its own merits. Actually it’s pretty good.

So I saw an Apple Watch …

And after all that it just wasn’t as amazing as I thought it would be. It was also thicker than I thought it might be. I’m just not sure that it is for me right now. I also think that the price for a reasonable model is too high right now. It might come down, it might not, and I’m not sure that Apple will want to replicate the same update cycle as their other hardware. People just don’t replace and update their watches with the same frequency. Or maybe Apple wants to change that too.

Anyway, for now I’m going to see how things pan out with my Pebble Time.

So, Torchwood is coming to Big Finish

I suppose it shouldn’t be a big surprise. They’re producing excellent stories from just about everything else in the Doctor Who universe, so why not? I’m sure it’ll be brilliant and well worth a listen. However, I wasn’t always a massive Torchwood fan. It had its ups and downs. Some episodes were great, others I felt lost their way.

So I hope that Big Finish do a better and more consistent job of producing Torchwood.

MG – MG

I’ve been looking forward to this album since the single was released which was really good, and I think it did deliver. It’s a very cinematic album, and I’ve been enjoying that quality a great deal. But overall this album does feel like an instrumental Depeche Mode album. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily. In fact it probably says a lot about how Depeche Mode works more than anything.

Overall I liked it. I think I probably need to listen to it again though. Probably in a bit more depth.
