Even though it’s been a couple of weeks since I went to see them live I haven’t got to listen to their new album. I got my copied signed by them too. So now I’m listening to it, and it is wonderful so far!

More Who
That is really the only way to toast them
Star Trek The Motion Picture
I hadn’t watched this for years and so when I did I was really shocked to hear the theme for Star Trek The Next Generation. I thought that there was something wrong or it had been added later or something.
I was completely wrong. Apparently the theme tune for The Motion Picture was used in The Next Generation because Gene Roddenberry liked the theme tune so much he wanted to use it again.
I never knew that!
And now for something more arty
Falling Skies
I watched episode 1 of this ‘sci-fi’ show tonight and was almost instantly disappointed. I suppose it could get better, but so far it is no BSG and doesn’t look like it will be capable of being one.
I could be wrong. It could improve, but for now I don’t think it will. I’m sure I’ll still watch it, but I’m not hopeful of that being a worthwhile experience.
Weekend beers
I managed to get through a few nice beers over the weekend. Here’s a little selection.

At night, in the forest
And then Palm Sounds was 5
I was thinking about this just the other day. A strange feeling when something you’ve been doing for such a long time turns a significant corner. Not that perhaps 5 years is very significant, but it does feel like a big number.
Sometimes I can’t believe that it has been going that long. It makes me wonder where it will go next. Will it still be there in another 5 years, or will it still be relevant or needed. In many ways pointless questions I know, but the kind of thing that your mind churns over in idle moments. Or at least mine does.
Anyway, I didn’t really mention it when the Palm Sounds 5th birthday thing was going on and I kept meaning to, so now I’ve done it, better late than never.
The moment has been marked.
