Spent a bit more time with Android app inventor recently. It is such a simple and straightforward way of constructing stuff for Android devices. But it also serves as a great reminder that if you don’t flex your programming skills (however meager they may be) once in a while you will find them almost non-existent when you try to use them again.
Hmm, point taken!
I read the 4 books of the Saga of the exiles years ago, in fact a lot of years ago. Anyway, it’s one of these books that I’ve always thought about reading again, but I know I’d never get around to it. Then I found it as an audio book. Only the first book sadly, but I thought I’d get it anyway.
It’s fun so far, not wonderful. The story is ok, but the narration leaves something to be desired. I’ll probably stick with it, and my real hope is that they bring the other 3 books out as audio books too. If they don’t it’ll be a real shame.
I was really disappointed watching True Grit on channel 4 the other day as it had been cut quite a lot, in fact one of my favourite lines was cut!
Anyway, I complained to Film 4 and the emailed me back apologising to me. Apparently they’d put the wrong version on and they’re going to show it again on Friday!
I found these when I was clearing out photos. Nice aren’t they.
I haven’t watched this film in ages and it’s great to see it again. What a great film!
I’ve been watching the trailers for this film for a while now and I’m really looking forward to seeing it. I like that they haven’t decided to just remake the original story to any degree at all like the last remake, and I think that the idea behind the story could prove really worth exploring.
I do hope that it isn’t a one off though. I hope it grows into a series just like the very original planet of the apes. We’ll see.
If you plan to see the film then don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil it for you.
I went to see it last week and really enjoyed it. Looking back on the Potter films, it has been an amazing series and has made huge amounts of money. I almost want to re-read the book, but I probably won’t.
In many ways it is the end of a big era. For some children there won’t have been a time when there wasn’t a new Potter film coming, and I wonder what that feels like.
On the whole I’ve enjoyed the entire story. I know some people have complained about it, the way it’s written and lots of other things, but I just think it was a good story and some fun films and that’s it.
I’m sure I’ll buy the DVD and be watching them all for years to come.
Let me just start with the fact that this show should be called falling ratings as that is undoubtedly what will happen to it.
I hate it when I see a show that’s meant to be a science fiction programme that is in fact just a drama set in a broadly science fiction theme. It just seems so pointless. The aliens are just an afterthought, they have no characters, they’re just incidental to the plot. So why make it a science fiction show if you can’t be bothered with the science fiction at all?
I’ll probably stick with it, but I don’t know why.
