Thinking about Romo

I’ve been thinking about what to do next with my Romo, and one thing immediately comes to mind. Using the three output ports at the front. I’ve been thinking about what I could do with those and especially what could be achieved musically using a tiny robot. I guess that’s what’s really interesting.

So I’ve started to gather some information on what the output from the ports is and then I’ll need to start some careful testing too. More on that as it develops.

The Sphero is on the go

I’m really intrigued by the idea of physical objects interacting with the real world, which is why I decided to get a Sphero ball. It’s a very interesting device, and there are a few apps that work with it, including especially Shapesynth, which makes some amazing sounds.

So I’m just getting started now on this, and starting to think about how I can use Sphero in a variety of different settings.

Look what arrived …

My Raspberry Pi arrived in the post! It is somewhat overwhelming to see so many people do really cool things with their Raspberry Pi’s, so I wonder if my plan will even work. We’ll see.

Raspberry Pi is on the way!

I’m really excited. It is on the way at last! But of course, what will I do with it? I have an ambitious plan of course, what else would you expect. However, it is almost certainly too ambitious for me to pull it off, but then, if it wasn’t, what would the point be of trying?

Thinking about what to do with Sugru

I’d heard of this stuff before, but I’d never used it. I got this sample from the lovely people at Technology Will Save Us when I went to their talk the other day. The sugru web site has some really good examples of how people have used the stuff.

So the only question remaining is, what should I use it for?

Technology Will Save us: Getting Physical with tech

I went to this talk last night about physical tech. Lots of stuff about Arduinos and prototyping and 3D printing and all of that kind of stuff. I really enjoyed it, especially because the guy giving the talk was so enthusiastic.

The evening did a lot to re-energise me into thinking about making stuff and getting on with some projects, or just having some fun playing with tech.
