I walked past these last week and stopped, first to watch them, and then to record the sound of the water, which I did. Hopefully I’ll get the recordings up in the next day or so when I’ve had a chance to listen to them properly.

Another little field recording … Borough Market
A place I really need to go to …
This was an excellent recommendation, and one I think I might need to get to a few times. I’ve never been to the Musical Museum at Kew Bridge, and up until a few days ago, I’d never even heard of it! It sounds (pun intended) like somewhere I should be very well acquainted with, so my plan is to sort that out very soon.
When I have, expect pictures, over enthusiasm etc!
Somethings from a mill?

Another early picture, and another one from the Isle of Wight, Calbourne Mill to be precise. I’m not sure what these were for. Some kind of sifting things, but I don’t know the real name. I liked the position of them more than anything, and I still do. The picture quality is very poor though. I know that. Even so, I still like it.

A field recording to start 2016
I said that I’d try again to create a sound diary of sorts, so here’s a start. I doubt I’ll manage to do this on a daily basis, but maybe weekly will work. So this is my first attempt at a start for 2016. I may post more than one per week, maybe not. We’ll see.
This was recorded in a local park. Very quite although you can hear a plane going over and cars occasionally too. It felt quite though.
It was recorded with my new Zoom h2n.
Pulling your own pint

I tried this pub (I can’t remember the name of it) a couple of weeks ago. It’s a craft beer pub and you can pull your own pint. I thought that this would be fun, and, to a degree it is. It’s a bit like using a petrol pump in that it counted out how much beer you’d poured up to 1.0, that being a pint.
Sadly it was a craft beer, so too cold and a bit fizzy too. The experience? Well it was ok, momentarily fun, but not much more than that I’d say. It wasn’t helped by the fact that the bar had no atmosphere at all, and was pretty much empty.
Would I do it again? Maybe, although I doubt I’d seek it out on purpose.
