Doctor Who: The Trail of the White Worm

I finally got to listen to the rest of this story, which is really good. Great to have the Master back again in a 4th Doctor story, and Unit and the Brigadier mentioned as well. It doesn’t get much better than that, and it’s great to hear Geoffrey Beevers as the Master, especially as he played the Master in the Keeper of Traken (one of my favourite stories).

Also, it’s a 2 part story! Excellent. Except that I have to wait for the second part to be delivered.

A new Imagined Village album

I didn’t know that they had a new album out, and more than that, I had no idea that they’d released an another album after their first! I’m really out of touch on this aren’t I. Still, never mind. I just need to catch a little with what they’ve been up to.

Cyberman: Part 1 – Scorpius

Another spin off Doctor Who story from Big Finish. I bought a handful of these to try them out, and this one is really quite good. Much darker than most Doctor Who stories though, quite contemplative as well.

I’m enjoying it. I may well follow this one up.

The Eiger Sanction

I really love this film and caught it just the other night. Apart from being a great example of it’s genre I’m always amazed at the shots on the mountain and the fact that the actors did so much, if not all of it themselves.

A great film, simple story, beautifully uncluttered.

Look what arrived …

My Raspberry Pi arrived in the post! It is somewhat overwhelming to see so many people do really cool things with their Raspberry Pi’s, so I wonder if my plan will even work. We’ll see.

New Laurel Halo album came out

And I missed it! It arrived on the 21st of May and I didn’t notice. Still, something new to listen to I guess. She was very good when I saw her live at Field Day and at the time I thought about her new album, I think I just had it in my head that it was coming out later in the year.

Never mind!

Further thoughts on a move to Android

I was thinking about moving to Android again. Weighing up whether I should move off iOS or not. One thing that I hadn’t thought about was which OS works best with the Pebble smartwatch. Whilst the smartwatch works with both operating systems, notifications work with Android, and not currently with iOS.

Of course, that could change, even next week at WWDC, but it does add another dimension to the question.

How to make Romo more creative

I was mucking around with Romo, trying to get it over a little assault course the other day. It was fun, but it did make me start to wonder about what sort of creative applications could be made for Romo? I’m not sure he could be used for music, or at least not in the current form of Romo.

Aside from creative applications I would like to see a few other features available for Romo, like the ability to log in to a Romo over the web to be able to use it as a remote web cam perhaps.
