It was a bit of a surprise to see this go universal, but I’m pretty sure it was on the cards. Anyway, it’s great to have it on the iPhone at last, as now I can make some islands on the go at last.

Arduino experiments restart
Finally I got back to my Arduino this weekend. It took a while to get it going again, but finally it is. My real aim is to get Android and Arduino working together and I’d found a site that explains how to do it. However, once I was quite a way through I realised that it required an Arduino Mega ADK and not the older model I had.
So now I’m wondering about getting an ADK model for £60 to continue this project. Perhaps a more sensible thing would be to get some stuff done with what I’ve got first and see where I get to with that before moving on.
Not sure.
8th Doctor: The Next Life
I haven’t mentioned an 8th doctor story for a while now and to be honest I haven’t had much time for listening lately, but I did manage to finish listening to this story. It was another 3 CD story so it did take a while to complete.
Not a bad one, a bit over complex in places, but nice use of Paul Darrow who can always manage a menacing voice.
Of course this story is a part of this enormous story arc and to be honest I am getting a little tired of it, especially as I think there’s another 8 CDs to go and some are doubles as well. So I’m hoping that it picks up in the next few stories. In fact the next one is a Dalek story so hopefully it’ll get moving with them in it. I’ll let you know.
MegaCurtis on the way
I’ve posted about the wonderful iOS tools from the Strange Agency before, so I was really pleased to see that they have another, or possibly an update on the way.
The refer to it as ‘MegaCurtis’, and it looks amazing, very much building on Curtis for the iPhone and the iPad version too. In some ways I’m hoping that it is a new app and not an update as I like the existing one and would almost just like to have a new one to compliment it, but irrespective I’m looking forward to it, for more strangeness and experimentation. Here we go.
Just really liked this photo

Getting acquainted with PixiTracker
More time spent with PixiTracker, what a great idea. I remember it the original running on Palm OS and Windows Mobile. With that you had to run it as a file in PixiLang, but that’s another story altogether.
Loopseque Mini
Really enjoyed playing around with this app yesterday. It has a great feel to it and I think that with some practice I might even get reasonable at making tracks with this app.
True Grit (the real one)
Having recently watched the remake of True Grit I watched the original again. It’s fantastic, as good as I remember and better. John Wayne’s performance was great, and the line, the amazing line, was delivered brilliantly. I love that line.
I know that it isn’t the best film in the world, but it has hope and redemption and some great writing, so I don’t think the remake was even nearly as good as the original. I think it was a bit of a missed opportunity. Or maybe it just wasn’t for me.
