Remembering Mick

Today there was a meet up in London to celebrate the life of the bassist Mick Karn who sadly died last month.

I would have really liked to have gone along, but it was sadly impossible. I’ve been thinking about him and his music for days, but I can’t seem to listen to anything by him. I don’t know why, but every time I see one of his tracks come up I skip it.

I’m considering having a serious Mick Karn listening session soon. I think it might be something I really need to do.

Next project is shaping up

I’ve started working on my next musical project which is called ‘Back and Forth‘. It’s a lot different to my last little project, ‘Micro Process‘. Instead it is based on a series of field recordings made using RJDJ and then processed with some other applications.

I hope to have it done by the end of the month, but you know about plans right?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to getting some more work done on it and experimenting, because that’s the best part!

Diminished listening

I feel like my listening of late has lacked inspiration and direction. In January I had a real programme of things to listen to, but this month so far I’ve just ambled through listening to things like eating comfort food.

I’m really going to have to snap out of it soon and listen to something a bit more inspiring or challenging.
