I know I always go back to this exhibition, but I love that it’s there, and I love visiting it too. It’s always good to see it anytime I’m at the Science Museum. Each time I visit I always find something new to look at, and this time it was these waveform slides.
So sad to hear this morning that Mary Tamm has died aged 62. I don’t really have the right words for this sort of thing, it’s probably best to just say that I think I need to watch the entire Key to Time story again now.
When I was at Beyond the border I had the good fortune to meet up with Tuup from Transglobal Underground. What a lovely man. Happy to have a chat and entirely approachable.
Sadly I didn’t get to see their set at BTB, but hopefully I’ll get to see them soon, either this month or later in the year.
A couple of weeks ago now I made another visit to the Science Museum’s Oramics exhibition. I really like this small exhibition. It is quite unusual and they keep adding new items to it and changing it slightly, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. I think I’ve been to it 4 times now.
I like how everything from her work is linked forward to how electronic music has developed. It’s interesting to see the progression and understand where things came from.
I almost certainly will go back again if I get the chance.
I didn’t even know that this exhibition was on at the Science museum, and I was only really there for Music day, so it was a real bonus to see it. Some nice exhibits and a lot of information packed into a very small space. I think I’ll need to see it again at least once if not more times.
Mr Turing would have been 100 years old today. His legacy to computing is amazing, there’s no doubt about that. I went to a big celebration at Bletchley Park in 2009 where I learnt a lot about him and what he’d done. Back in 2009 you didn’t hear so much about him and his work, I’m glad that’s changed.
Today I went to an exhibition about him at the Science Museum, and whilst it was only a small exhibition it’s good to see the recognition.
I really liked the fact that he had a load of his cables and bits and pieces in a plastic carrier bag. I found that sort of endearing in a way.
I didn’t know about this before. I only read about it on the BBC web site the other day and I thought I should share it with anyone who’s interested in John Peel.
I couldn’t believe it when I read it this morning. A whole year since the incredible Elizabeth Sladen left us. I thought I should post something simple to remember her.
Having got the CD I listened to these few last tracks by Mick Karn and Dalis Car. It felt strange to hear his work. The tracks are very good. Very Dalis Car, in keeping with the first album which has always been a favourite for me.
I think I’ll need to listen to the tracks a few more times though to really get into them and get used to them if that makes sense.
