My most recent additions to my collection. Nothing startling really, but some fun stuff.
Category: Music
Music is a huge part of my life so it’s almost certain that this category will have a lot of stuff in it.
So I’m at CDM now
I’ve been meaning to mention this and just haven’t gotten around to it as yet, at least not here anyway. So, PalmSounds is kind of on hold as I’ve moved writing my mobile content to CDM now. I think it’s a good move. It means that mobile music content will hopefully get a much bigger audience, and as things move and converge I believe CDM will be a better place to see that through.
Goodbye Holger
I found out yesterday that Holger Czukay died on the 5th of this month. It is so sad. I have been listening to his music and collaborations for over 30 years now. Some time ago I went to see him live at the Roundhouse in Camden. It was a great show. He had so much energy. It was such a fun show.
I will be listening to his music over the next few days and enjoying it, remembering what an incredible innovator he was, and how he influenced so many creative people. He’ll be missed by many. He will be missed by me.
Some new picture discs
Radiophonic Workshop: Burials in Several Earths

I’ve been a fan for a long time now, and I saw them at WOMAD a few years ago, which was a real joy. Now they’ve released Burials in Several Earths on 10″ vinyl and it is a thing of beauty. Not only to listen to but simply as an object in itself. I’m glad to own it.
Colossus Sequencer and Synth, it’s been too long …

I actually got these two working a long time ago, and they do work quite well, if being a bit limited, but they’re fun and that’s fine.
However, I was thinking the other day that I should give it a go with some of the other little modular things I have. The colossus sequencer has a CV out so should work with some of my other bits and pieces.
There’s an experiment or two in there I think.
Experimenting with little modular things

I’ve been exploring some of my tiny modular devices. Above you can see. I posted this picture a while ago on Instagram. It was a fun thing to play around with, and I think that these devices go very well together.
I can see myself doing a lot more little sessions like this. I’ve been recording them on tape too. Yep, real cassette tape.

Some interesting musical stats
I got an email from Spotify a week ago. It gives me my listening numbers for 2016, and it makes for some interesting reading. Here’s what I did:
- 12,152 minutes of listening on Spotify
- 1,017 artists listened to
- 2,113 unique tracks listened to
So that’s not bad really.
