Another cross post from PalmSounds, my favourite posts from PalmSounds in 2015. Some really good stuff in here if you’re interested in mobile music that is. If you’re not, well then, just move along, there’ll be something else interesting later!
Category: Mobile Applications
I’m a big fan of mobile applications. It started with the Palm OS and Windows Mobile, and has continued with iOS and Android. Who knows where mobile apps will go to next, it’s a journey, and an interesting one at that. If you’re looking for more on mobile apps then also check out the menu sections for pages on specific apps and things I’ve done with them.
Something from PalmSounds: 24 devices that were important to me for mobile music
I thought I’d post a link to this post at PalmSounds as it is as appropriate here as it is there. All of these devices are still important to me and if anything I think they’ll be even more important in 2016. I hope you like the post if you read it.
More Ukulele exploration from me
Another piece from me exploring sonic manipulation of my Ukulele through apps.
PalmSounds has a new logo, on Twitter anyway

I’m very pleased with it, and so far, it seems to have gone down very well indeed. I hope you like it. You can see what I’m doing on Twitter (with PalmSounds that is), here.
UPDATE: Looking at this live on the site, this logo really suits the theme here. It fits so well! I only just noticed.
Things to wait for in 2016
Good luck Intermorphic
I really liked this post from Intermorphic about what they’ve been doing this year and what they have planned for 2016. I’ve been a fan of theirs for many years now. In fact, probably approaching 10 years now. I’ve seen them go through several iterations and still keep going. I hope that they keep flying the flag for generative music for many years to come.
Good luck guys.
Favourite pictures of 2015 … a PDA and a mini Modular
The PalmSounds 24 apps of 2015
This post over at PalmSounds is all about my favourite apps, or rather, favourite music apps anyway, that I’ve been using this year. There’s 24 in my list and it was pretty hard to keep it to 24 too.
Tydlig updated but still no save
Which is a real shame in my view. I mean, I understand that it isn’t always easy to give users what they want, but this is a feature that I think would make this app so much better, so much more usable. So why not add it? I’m not sure I understand this at all.
I might even have to find myself another calculator app that does what I want it to do. I’d rather not, but what else can I do?
SoundLab Play Space: Studio Amplify

These guys are pretty amazing actually. I’ve been following their NOiZE app for a long time now and it’s nearly ready for prime time. I’m glad to have been a part of the journey that they’ve been on and I’m pleased that they were able to be SoundLab’s Play Space event at NESTA last month.
