Concretedog: The Coracle And The Yellow Shell
I just bought this as soon as I knew it was available this morning, and I’m listening to it now as I expect to be listening to it for a few days. Wonderful stuff.

The TC doesn’t like rDrum
I”m not sure that the old Tungsten C is quite as ok as I thought. I tried to run this app on it, and after the start up screen, this is what I got. Then the TC decided that it needed a full reboot.
It’s not about the numbers
When I was writing Palm Sounds I took the decision, or rather the intention not to use analytics like google analytics as I realised that if you’re writing about something you love then why are you looking at the numbers all the time?
When google put an analytics module into blogger I lapsed a little and couldn’t help myself in checking the stats, but it didn’t tell me anything I didn’t really know intuitively myself. I think that unless you’re running a business of some kind those stat counters do nothing but discourage you or make you wonder who is reading and why.
I’m trying hard not to look at the stats on this site as for the most part I have no interest in them.
So if you’re reading this then please enjoy the site. I’ve no idea that you’re here.
A side order of Instagram
In case you hadn’t noticed I’ve put in a feed from my instagram account in the sidebar.
I like instagram. You can find some great shots and see some really interesting pictures.
Getting going with ThinkDB
ThinkDB2.5 is a very old piece of software. I think I’d lost my registration for this old Palm OS app, but I managed to find away around that. Even though this is an old app that doesn’t mean it isn’t any use, in fact, quite the contrary. As a little database app for Palm OS it is very functional indeed. To the extent that it even has a plug in architecture, although I haven’t quite remembered how to get that going as yet.
I’m slowly remembering why the Palm was such a great platform. Who knows, I might even go back to it!
InGladAloness released on the 20th
New material from Dali’s Car is being released on the 20th of February. I’m really looking forward to the release, especially as it was the last music made by Mick Karn. So I’ve ordered my copy already.
Seems like there’ll be lots of new music this month.
Looking forward to Concretedog’s new album
It’s due out this Sunday and I just know it’ll be amazing. I’ve heard snippets and they’re great. If you don’t know Concretedog’s material, his music and hand made instruments you should take a look at his blog.
You won’t be disappointed.
Pixelwave and SpectrumGen
After PixiTracker I started to play with Alex’s PixelWave and SpectrumGen, which are great for making sounds like the music from the Forbidden Planet, and why wouldn’t you want to do that?
Recording with Curtis
Curtis is a great music making app for getting sounds going granular. I was using it at the station the other day and enjoying the sounds from announcers.
