On the pebble web site they’ve got a big countdown timer. Something is coming. In less than 6 days. I’m intrigued. I’m so tempted to get another pebble smart watch, but I’m trying to be patient and see what the Apple Watch is all about until I decide. So will pebble’s news, whatever it is, tip my hand early? I guess it won’t be too long to find out.

Survivors, audiobook from Big Finish
So I bought the big finish audiobook of the full unabridged version of Survivors. It’s read by Carolyn Seymour too. She was the lead character in the original 1970’s series.
I’m looking forward to hearing this version to add to my comparison of all of the different iterations of the story.
Now I have a use for this!
I’ve had this 4 port USB cassette for ages but haven’t really had a use for it up until now, so I’m so glad to have a reason to get it out and plug it in after all this time, and even more I’m so glad that I didn’t get rid of it.
Blake’s 7: Ghost Ship
Another good story from Big Finish. I’ve enjoyed the full cast series of Blake’s 7 a lot more than the liberator chronicles, although the few of those I’ve listened to have been good too. I think that there’s something special about a full cast drama. It is probably my favourite kind of audiobook.
This series has been consistently good as is this story. I won’t give anything away just in case you’re going to listen to it. But suffice it to say that there’s an interesting story arc building and I’m keen to hear where it goes.
It’s a great series all in all. So much so that I really don’t want it to end. I just hope that they keep making them.
Oh yes, and one other thing, this is now post 2000! I couldn’t think of any particular science fiction show or really anything else to commemorate the 2000th post on my blog, so I thought that Blake’s 7 was as good, if not better, than anything else.
It’s only fair that post 1999 be about Space 1999
It’s only right isn’t it. I’m a fan and I feel that I should dedicate post number 1999 to Space 1999. I’m still slowly making my way through season 2, and if that wasn’t enough I’m not sure that I’ve finished reading the comic editions on comixology either.
Perhaps I need to make a bit more effort and finish off reading and watching this stuff soon, especially after celebrating Space 1999 today.
Kits, kits, kits …
I picked up these excellent kits from Technology And Will Save Us at Rough Trade East. They’re lovely and I’m really looking forward to getting going with them soon.
Another new John Foxx album on the way
I’ve only just heard about this. It’s coming out in March apparently, so there’s even more to look forward to from Mr Foxx this year.
Getting the bC16
So after years of wanting one of these I’ve finally got one, and it wasn’t cheap, but it is lovely, and I’m looking forward to spending a bit more time with it and getting used to how it works and how to get it to make some awesome noises.
So sad to hear about Steve Strange
How sad was yesterday’s news? I’d been listening to some of the new Visage stuff on spotify only recently and thinking it was quite good really. So it was a real shock to hear he’d passed away so young. I think he still had a lot of creativity left. Still had songs to sing, and music to make, so it really is our loss.
I think I have to listen to a lot of Visage now.
Loving Barcodas and finding out about bar codes
I do like the idea of made from things that don’t normally make music. Hence I like barcodas. The idea of making little snippets of music from bar codes is very appealing. To me anyway. The interesting thing, at least, interesting to me anyway is that different types of bar codes seem to have very different properties. So for instance, using bar codes taken from books, these all sound the same, at least the first few notes do. Bar codes taken from cereal boxes are quite different.
So I had a little idea for a barcodas project that I think I’m going to try out soon.
