I’ve no idea what this is or who made it, but I did really like it as I stumbled over it in Antwerp.

Circuit disappointment
I was able to go along to a workshop held by Technology will save us. A great little tech company with a fantastic ethos. The workshop was at Rough Trade East and was all about making a DIY synth. Something very close to my heart. Sadly, some of the components used in the kits didn’t work at all and so the whole thing ground to a halt about halfway through.
It was a real shame actually as it had all been making a lot of sense up to that point, and so I felt really quite disappointed by the event. I know that they’ll figure out a way of sorting things out, but it wasn’t a great experience sadly, especially as I’d been looking forward to it so much.

The V&A digital design weekend was part of something a little bit bigger. I liked the logo a lot though, which I suppose I should given that it was all about design.

This time from the National Museum of Scotland whilst I was up there for the Edinburgh Festival in August.

It was really quite an amazing piece of technology. It did quite a good job really, but most of the pictures took around 30 minutes to get them done. Not bad I suppose.
I saw this at Antwerp Station
It just made me laugh that someone had gone to the trouble of putting it there in the first place.
A bit of the V&A Digital Design Weekend
I love the V&A and this was a great event with some truly innovative and creative ideas brought to life. My favourites being the drawing robot arm and the brain wave machine, which I still don’t entirely understand.
A bit live at WOMAD
This is from way back in the summer, but we did manage a couple of songs on one of the open mic stages at WOMAD, which was great fun actually. In fact, we should do it more often I think.
Wallander
I really liked the UK version of Wallander with Kenneth Brannagh. I’ve watched all 3 series and recently re-watched the first two series on netflix. I was impressed again with just how good the performances were and the very high production values in all the episodes. But the one thing I haven’t been able to do so far is to watch the original series. I’m sure it’s very good, and maybe I’ll get around to watching it one day, but for now I’ll just stick to the one I like.

Whilst I was only in Antwerp for a few days I did enjoy it and it seemed liked a great city and a it has 5000 pubs / bars. Now that’s worth going to right?
