And then the bendy’s were gone

A sad day yesterday as we saw the very last of London’s bendy buses ride the streets. Dear Borris has decided that they should be no more and has got rid of them. But then should we really expect decent decision making form him. I don’t think so. Why anyone voted for him in the first place is still beyond me.

He’s made London a sadder place again. Nice one Borris. Keep it up. What do you expect though, he probably doesn’t even know what a bus is for.

The Wire 2011 Rewind

Every year I wait for the Wire’s review of albums and see how many I have managed to pick up over the year. Some year’s I do not so bad, but this year I’ve done really badly. Never mind. Time to start to listen to a few of these albums I think.

Spotify and the arrival of the SPAPP

Last Sunday I went along to music hack day and a lot of the hacks used spotify’s new app platform. More of what I think about platforms another time.

I was a spotify user a while back but just ended up not using it anymore over a year ago. So I decided to fire up the service again to see if I was missing out on anything.

Perhaps I just didn’t give it a good enough chance but it did feel like I had no use for it. Maybe I’m not the target audience or maybe I need to upgrade to get the most out of it. Whatever it is I’m not finding it useful so far.

I like the idea of it and I thought some of the SPAPPs were kind of cool, but perhaps it needs a bit of time to mature.

The Fantastic Mr Fox

I love this film, it is so beautiful and so charming, but then I like most of Wez Anderson’s films on the whole. Some more than others, and I probably like this one 3rd or 4th. Something like that anyway.

The art of zero tasking

You might have heard of multi-tasking or even mono-tasking, but you may not have heard of zero-tasking. Zero-tasking is the art of being able to do nothing simultaneously. That is, at the same time as doing nothing at all.

I’m working very hard at becoming a grand master of zero-tasking, but it is a lot harder than you think. It’s so easy just to break off and do something. But you must resist!
