Things to look forward to in March

There’s quite a few things I’m looking forward to in March to be fair. Here’s a selection:

  1. New Blancmange album is going to be released
  2. I’m going to see Blancmange live
  3. A new Human league album is coming, who knows what it will be like
  4. John Foxx and the Maths bring out their new album (I’ve got it on order already)

There’s a few more too, but that lot is worth waiting for if nothing else. Lots of new music coming. Excellent.

More Back More Forward

I got some time today to move along my next set of tracks, or rather I should say, continue to experiment with the raw material and see where it takes me.

I’ve been using Jasuto Pro to manipulate samples through a gate and a variety of filters and effects which are triggered from a sequencer module. I’m quite pleased with the results actually. Although, I’m not sure quite where it’ll fit into the final piece.

Even so, it has been an enormous amount of fun so far to make.

Moving forward: Back and Forth

I got to spend some time with my latest music project yesterday. I’ve been experimenting with processing audio through Jasuto which has had some interesting results.

As I said before, I think that the creative process in making these soundscapes may end up being more satisfying that the actual finished product, but at the moment I’m not worrying too much about that. I think I’ll enjoy the process for now and see where I end up with in a couple of months.

Slightly stalled

My current musical project has had a bit of a stall this week. It isn’t that I’ve lost interest in doing it, rather everything else has taken priority over time this week and so nothing creative has had time to squeeze out.

I’m hoping that I might be able to put that right today or tomorrow. We’ll have to see later, but ideally I’d like to get this project finished this month. It think it is possible, but that doesn’t mean it is likely sadly.

Working on ‘Back and Forth’

I managed to get some more work done on my next musical project today. I wasn’t expecting to get much done, but I got a little work completed which felt good. The first phase of the project was quite straightforward, but the next phase is a lot less certain. It is a lot more experimental and I don’t have any fixed idea of what I want to achieve or how I want to achieve it.

I guess the fun is in the discovery or the journey rather. I’ll see how it shapes next week.

Next project is shaping up

I’ve started working on my next musical project which is called ‘Back and Forth‘. It’s a lot different to my last little project, ‘Micro Process‘. Instead it is based on a series of field recordings made using RJDJ and then processed with some other applications.

I hope to have it done by the end of the month, but you know about plans right?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to getting some more work done on it and experimenting, because that’s the best part!
