30 years of WOMAD

I sort of wish I hadn’t folded this programme in half, but I did, and I probably won’t keep it. It was one of the best programmes for WOMAD I’ve seen in years.

Laurie Anderson “Dirtday” at the RHF

My ticket for Laurie Anderson’s amazing show on Friday. It was everything that I’ve come to expect from a Laurie Anderson show. Amusing, emotional, political and personal, it was a great performance on every level. I’m so glad I went along.

I wish she’d release another album. I know it hasn’t been long since her last, but the material from her last few shows is so good I’d like to hear it again.

In any case, it was a superb show and I’m glad I made the effort to get along to it.

The Half Moon in Putney

I hadn’t been to this pub / venue in a long time, and it was really nice to be back. It’s a great little place. I went with a bunch of friends to see the band ‘Mad Dog McRea”, who were good fun to watch really. I think I’d almost certainly go back if there was someone good on there.

Fashion: The Twilight of Idols

I bought this after listening to Fashion’s Fabrique album, or to be correct, an album called “The Height of Fashion”. I had remembered that the second album wasn’t nearly as good, and was in fact a bit of a let down, and after buying it again I remember just what a disappointment it was. There are a couple of reasonable tracks, but the rest are nowhere nearly as good.

What a shame. Never mind though.

My next soldering project is going to be …

And Arduino Wave Shield Kit. Which, I have to say is a little bit of a reach for me, but, I really think that making this and then using it will be a big step forward for me in terms of my Arduino experiments, which I really want to take into a more audio / musical direction. So this is, I think, the best way forward.

I’ll post shots of the board as I make progress on it.
