A Dickens walk around London on a wet and windy day

It was almost the worst possible weather for this kind of event, but even so, it was really worth going to. The guy who was leading the walk is involved with the Spitalfields Life blog, which is a great read if you don’t know it.

I have to say that the walk did bring Dickens to life in his native Shadwell and Limehouse, and despite the poor weather I did enjoy the walk. I might even do another one at some point in the future, although I might wait for better weather next time.

It also made me realise just how much of London I don’t know at all.

And then the bendy’s were gone

A sad day yesterday as we saw the very last of London’s bendy buses ride the streets. Dear Borris has decided that they should be no more and has got rid of them. But then should we really expect decent decision making form him. I don’t think so. Why anyone voted for him in the first place is still beyond me.

He’s made London a sadder place again. Nice one Borris. Keep it up. What do you expect though, he probably doesn’t even know what a bus is for.
