I’ve seen this band a number of times now and they’re always good fun live. A great sound and highly enjoyable. I’ve never listened to them recorded mind you, I’m not sure that I would actually. But live they’re awesome.

Who doesn’t love live music? It’s awesome

I’ve liked the music of Louis Andriessen for some time. Years probably, and I haven’t heard any of his music performed in a very long time, so when the opportunity came to get tickets to this at the Barbican, and at an amazingly reasonable price too (thanks Sound and Music) then it was to be jumped at. Two of the pieces were premieres too, which was was of course great to hear.
Overall it was a really good concert.

What a great night out this turned out to be. I really enjoyed seeing this band. The sound was lovely, and atmosphere was fun and pretty lively at time. Ska has never been a big thing for me, but perhaps I should do a little more digging to find out a bit more and do some more listening.

I was really pleased to be invited to this gig by my friend Gawain Hewitt. It’s always a lovely experience to see new music, and also to visit the Roundhouse. It was a really interesting performance. Improvised and based around field recordings of water that Gawain had taken in London, Norway, and Bangladesh.
It was at times very interesting and beautiful. I’m so glad that I got to go along.

This was last Sunday at Under the Bridge in Fulham. A really nice venue, I’ve always liked going there for gigs. This is one I went to last year as well. The same venue, the same line up, and close to the same date too.
I do enjoy the Pukes, I’ve never listened to their stuff except for live, so this year I’m going to try something different and listen to their recorded stuff to.
OMD are playing the Royal Albert Hall next May, and I’ve got tickets. They’re going to play Dazzle Ships and Architecture and Morality too. Dazzle Ships was one of their more experimental albums but actually one of the ones I liked the most. I thought it was a really interesting album and I’ve always enjoyed it.
So I’m looking forward to seeing them live again, but it’s a long time to wait.

I went to see the Selector last Friday at the Clapham Grand. It was an awesome gig. I was never a massive fan of their stuff although I liked the singles “On my radio”, and “3 minute here”, but it was great to hear them live. They had so much energy and enthusiasm and the crowd loved every minute of it.
I haven’t rushed out to buy their stuff or anything, but I’m glad I went to the gig and saw them. It was well worth it.

I saw Eeek at the Half Moon Putney supporting Never the Bride. They were really really good. I was quite taken by their music, especially the quality of the vocals and the harmonies. In fact, so much so that I bought their CD. Now it’s time to see if their recorded music is as good as their live performance.
