Happy Birthday Tom Baker, 78 today!

My favourite Doctor Who by far. Happy Birthday! I’m so glad that you’re back doing Big Finish stories. I still haven’t listened to the first one, but I’m so looking forward to it.

Doctor Who: Scherzeo

This is the next story after Zagreus, and is a very strange one indeed. I’m half way through it and I’ve no idea what is going to happen at all or how it will end up. In fact, so far I’m not even very sure about what the story is at the moment.

It is a strange one that’s for sure. I’m sort of looking forward to the next disk, but I’m also slightly concerned that it will end up not being a story at all. I guess I’ll just have to brave it out.

Classic Who: The Horror of Fang Rock

A wonderful Tom Baker story. Thoroughly enjoyable with classic Leela-ness about it too. I also liked ‘The Horror of Glam Rock’, the 8th doctor story of a similar name, with an excellent Bernard Cribbens performance.

Doctor Who: Zagreus

So I finished listening to this today, all 3 CDs. The cast was amazing. It looked like Big Finish had basically got everyone together who’d been in Doctor Who and got them into a single story (with a few exceptions). But the story wasn’t that good in my opinion. It was ok, and would have worked for a smaller cast, but I think there were almost too many people in Zagreus.

Still, I enjoyed it and it moves me on to listen to the next story.

Listening to Zagreus

This is one hell of a story. The cast is amazing, and the whole thing runs over 3 CDs. Amazing. I’m hoping to finish listening to it today. I’ll let you know what it’s link.

More Who

The first of the new fourth Doctor Who stories has arrived, “Destination Nerva”. I’m looking forward to listening to this one over the weekend at some point, and I hope that the second story won’t be too long behind it either.

Doctor Who: Neverland

Another good story, and nice to hear Lalla Ward again in an 8th Doctor story. I’m looking forward to getting hold of a copy of the next story in this series, called ‘Zagreus’, which sounds like it is going to be fairly important in the whole story arc.

Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks

I really enjoyed this 8th Doctor story, once again with Charlie as the companion. Whilst I always enjoy a good a good Dalek story, this one had an interesting story line and some good twists too.

There wasn’t much in the way of any continuation of the story arc sadly, just a brief mention at the end. But never mind, it was still a great story and that’s what counts.
