someone who's doing some things
A huge influence on me musically from a very early age.
I know I only posted this recently, but as it is Cassette Store day today I thought I would post it again. This is a beautifully made and packaged cassette. I also love the music too, which makes it even better.
I already have this album, on vinyl and on CD, but the tape has something special about it, and it isn’t just that it was the format that I bought this album on for the first time. No, it’s something different.
With the original tape was a lyric list that came with it, printed on the same sort of paper that bibles are printed with. It was a lovely touch and in keeping with the whole album, so when I saw it come up on eBay I knew it was something I wanted to own again just for old times sake.
As a big Bill Nelson fan I felt that I had to try this stuff out. It isn’t bad at all really. In fact I’ve just bought another disc from Channel Light Vessel.
I’ve never been much of a reader of biographies, but this one really got my attention. Having been a long time fan of Bill Nelson I did know a lot about him and his music, but the book brought it to life (of course he’s still alive so it would).
It was well worth the read and I might even buy his other book.
It’s given me a taste for reading other biographies too, which is handy as I have a real backlog of books to read.
I’ve been after the CD version of this for ages now. It wasn’t cheap as it is relatively rare, but it was worth it for a couple of tracks that are not available anywhere else.
Interesting what things from the past rise to the surface from time to time. I’ve had these two badges for many years now and I can’t remember the last time I saw them.
They bring back lots of good memories.
