The second volume of short trips was good too. It was the same format as the first. A range of stories covering the first 8 doctors. All good, some better than others of course. But overall, very enjoyable.

I do like audio books.
Well the first deal today from Big Finish that was useful to me was the first 4 volumes of Short Trips. That’s a lot of stories so I thought I’d get it and give it a listen. Of course that deal has gone now, but it was a good one, or at least so I hope anyway.

And I really enjoyed it, enjoyed it a lot. It was a little disjointed in terms of the connection between the three stories. Even so, they were all good in their own right, each story that is. And it was a good follow on from the first story too. The cast was excellent to say the least and it was really great to hear David Warner in there with Mr Hurt.
In fact, the first story was quite unusual for a Dr Who story. I shan’t elaborate as it would really give the game away, but it revolved around David Warner’s character.
Anyway, I’m interested to hear the next set of stories in the series.
According to them there’s going to be a bunch of deals coming today, starting from 9am. So it could be an expensive day really! Who knows (pun intended). I’ll be watching their site like a hawk of course and if there’s something truly startling I may even post about it. We’ll see.
I’m a big Survivors fan. I’ve watched both the 1970’s and most recent TV versions and the Big Finish audio series 1 through 3. So I am looking forward to the next installment. I like how Big Finish have taken the whole thing in a different direction in a way whilst also staying consistent with the original book. That’s something that the 1970’s TV show didn’t entirely manage.
I’m really glad that Big Finish is maintaining the series and developing it, and also using a number of the original actors as well. They do it so well. Long may it last.
