I really love Looptastic Producer, and this is an earlier version of the app with no ability to add in samples or loops in any way. Which makes it kind of limited really, but it’s been fun to play with again, although I won’t be keeping it on my 3G.
Tag: Apps
Everything is about apps at the moment. A lot of what I mention under the apps tag is around iOS and mobile music, but there’s other stuff too, and not just iOS, but Android, Palm OS and Windows mobile.
App revisit: Voice Band
This is a really amazing concept. The idea that you can make a whole track just by singing different instruments. But it isn’t that easy to control.
App revisit: Songatron
Here’s another app that’s leaving my 3G. It’s fun, but not much more. Although I bet it wasn’t easy to make. Still, I can’t see a real use for it in terms of my music making.
App revisit: Oscilloscoop
Another app that’s gone from my 3G. Oscilloscoop is great fun to play around with and very cool visual concept, but didn’t really progress on from there. I think it had potential, but it didn’t develop. Never mind.
App revisit: ToneMatrix
App revisit: Hexaphone
Another older app that I’ve finally decided should go from my old 3G. It wasn’t a bad app to play about with, but I can’t see myself using it going forward.
App revisit: Drum Toy
I like the ‘probability’ factor of this drum app. It’s quite good fun to play around with, but I’m not sure where it’ll take me next.
App revisit: SID Player
App revisit: Surface DJ
Another early iOS app that didn’t get maintained and just fell by the wayside. It was a shame really as it had potential and others have built on the concepts. It would have been great if it allowed you to bring your own samples in, but it was around before that functionality was available in iOS. Never mind, a nice use of the device in it’s day.
App revisit: Dropophone
This is a lovely little music making app. Completely simple, no recording, just makes little tunes and that’s all.
I like that, it’s so straightforward.
