App revisit: LoopXtreme

Another app that I always thought was a little overlooked and had a lot of potential. One of the problems with it was that it was quite complicated to get to grips with. Perhaps that’s why it didn’t get the attention it deserved.

I’m giving it another go though.

Experimenting with Spotify

I’ve been talking about doing this for ages, and finally I took the plunge with a premium spotify account. It’s only day 1 and so far I’m impressed. I thought I’d listen to a few albums that I’ve been thinking about buying but just haven’t gotten around to.

So I listened to VCMG, SSSS, and Taylor Deupree’s Northern. Good stuff too. I think this is going to work out. It is a little strange to move away from the ‘owning’ model. But I’ll see how the experiment goes. I’m looking forward to trying out spotify apps, or SPAPPS!

App revisit: Theremins …

A bunch of different theremin apps, mostly from the early days of the app store and iOS, and by today’s standards, not totally amazing really, but for their day, they were. Using the accelerometer to make music, gesturally on a phone was a pretty amazing idea, and these apps were the front runners.

30 days and over 6000 plays

I posted about this a week or so ago, and I couldn’t believe the number of plays this track had received at that point, but now that it’s gone over 6000 I really can’t believe it at all. Where will it all end?

App revisit: Studio App

Whilst I think this is a worthwhile app and has some really nice features I already have a bunch of things that do much the same on my 3G device, so it won’t be staying sadly. But it is a good app and has a simple interface too.

App revisit: Looptastic Electro

I really love Looptastic Producer, and this is an earlier version of the app with no ability to add in samples or loops in any way. Which makes it kind of limited really, but it’s been fun to play with again, although I won’t be keeping it on my 3G.
