Unknown Public is now long gone, but I was an early subscriber, and this is the first ever issue. I actually ordered it on CD I think but got the first one on cassette then had it changed. So this is the only cassette version I’ve got.

The whole package was beautifully made and it is a lovely object in its own right.

Cassette Store Day 2015: Favourite Cassettes – Jean the Birdman

It was a bit of a surprise collaboration in my opinion, but a good one, and this is one of the songs I liked the most from the album.

Cassette singles are such an anachronism but I love them, so I had to keep this one.

Laurie Anderson’s ‘Heart of a Dog’ out later this month

I only heard about this album in an email from Nonesuch records. So I pre-ordered it almost immediately. I’ve no idea of what to expect from it, except of course that it will be interesting and beautiful and thought provoking.

So I’m looking forward to it a lot, and may, as a result, go over some of Laurie Anderson’s previous works in advance of hearing it.

And it’s been a bit of a generative day over at PalmSounds

Today has been a bit of a day for my friends over at Intermorphic. Today marks 25 years that they’ve been in generative music, and that’s a pretty amazing achievement in my book. So I’ve been remembering some of the high points from my perspective over at PalmSounds today. I thought it was something that should be marked.

Waiting for the Patchblocks MIDI block

Just been taking a look at the Patchblocks MIDI block on their new site. It’s cheaper than I expected, although apparently when the final version becomes available it’ll be a bit more than the current £15. Even at a bit more than that I might pick one up. I think it’ll make my existing Patchblocks a lot more useful to me.

Hopefully it won’t be too long to wait though.
