Things are going on all the time!, This category is about things I’ve been to or sometimes would have liked to have been to. Also, it’s about events I’m a part of or have had some hand in running.
Went to see an amazing performance of the Tempest at the fringe. It was truly inspired. It was a very physical production with actors / aerialist performers and I think it is certainly one of the most unique performances I’ve seen, and the kind of thing I just love to see at the Edinburgh Festival.
The performance was only an hour long, and cut some of the story, but was none the worse for it in my opinion at all.
I spent the last few days in Edinburgh at the Fringe. I haven’t been for years and years now and it was fantastic to go back. I’ll be posting a bunch of pictures from the last few days together with some reviews of shows too.
Since I heard their first album I’ve been a fan of Oi Va Voi and it was great to see them at WOMAD this year. They were fantastic live, a great band to watch. I hope they do another album soon.
I had no idea. In fact I went to the Great British Beer Festival on the 4th rather than the 5th.

I went to see the Blind Boys of Alabama last night. I’ve only seen them once before and it was an incredible experience and this time was just as good and in some ways better.
The energy that these guys have in their 70’s is amazing. I wish I had that now. But the truly amazing thing is their passion. A passion for their music and their faith that they share freely and joyously. It was a wonderful gig and great to talk to them briefly afterwards at their signing too.
I hope I get to see them again and I hope they just keep doing what they do.
