This was good. Very much in the style of the 4th Doctor, and with the amazing Mary Tamm, who was one of my all time favourite companions. She is very missed.
someone who's doing some things
Ok, it was last week, but I thought I’d mention it. I had a couple of less than perfect experiences with the last batch, so I’m hoping for much more satisfactory experience this time around. I’ll be sinking the first one or two in a day or so. I’ll let you know the results.
I used to use posterous as a convenient platform for posting and storing field recordings. However, posterous went quite a long time ago now, and it seems silly to keep these posts around. Unfortunately there were 135 of these posts. Anyway, I’ve deleted all of these now as a part of tidying up the site.
It was quite interesting actually. I filled a lot of gaps in my knowledge about modulars. However, it still hasn’t made me really want one. I can understand the ideas behind them and I can understand why they are popular, but I still don’t want to commit to getting one. Perhaps it’s because I’ve never actually got my hands on one so I’m not hooked as yet. Who knows.
Still, it was interesting to watch and hear some of the views of a few artists I really respect.

This was a must for me at Edinburgh this year. Of course, with a show like this you never quite know what you’re going to get before you get there. It’s a gamble, like most of the Fringe, but even more so when you’re a big fan of something like The Blues Brothers.
But it was very good. Very good indeed. They did all the major songs and more. The routines were very good, Jake was especially convincing and all in all it was a good gig.
I think I should go to a few more Blues Brothers tribute bands.
I’ve missed it. I’m really annoyed about that. I’ve checked the confront recordings site and it confirms that it’s sold out. How irritating is that! I didn’t even know it was going to be a limited edition release. I thought I’d just be able to get a digital edition.
I guess I could look for a copy on eBay and pay too much for it. I’m not really happy about it all. Sort of annoyed with myself too.
Instead I had a very quiet weekend and caught up on a load of things instead. It was a bit of a shame, but not the end of the world of course. I didn’t really fancy anything in particular from this year’s set of buildings either. Still, perhaps I should make a bigger effort to go along next year. We’ll see.
