I’ve been a big fan of Fennesz for a long time now. Many years in fact, so when he brings out a new album I usually get it. This is a great album. Really enjoyable, although my favourite of all time is Venice, by a very long way indeed.

Finally starting to do something with my TouchBoard
I backed the TouchBoard on kickstarter, but ever since I got it I haven’t either had the time to do anything proper with it, and haven’t had any ideas of projects to start with it either. But the other day I started having a few ideas of things I wanted to try out. So I got the box out and started to investigate what was in there as I hadn’t looked in ages.
It’s a nice kit, and everything works or at least seems to work just fine even though I haven’t touched it in ages. I’ll hopefully get to use it for a couple of projects soon enough.

Spiro: Welcome Joy and Welcome Sorrow
I first heard Spiro at WOMAD a few years ago and I’ve been enjoying their music ever since. I especially liked the versions of a couple of tracks with a Moog modular. Whilst their stuff is good it does sound quite similar a lot of the time. Not that it’s a bad thing. Not at all really.
But this album isn’t any different. It’s still good. Interesting to hear, but in many ways a lot like their other stuff. Again, it isn’t a bad thing. It has a place in my listening anyway.
