Back to Reaktor

I decided that I really should get better acquainted with Reaktor. I’ve had the software for ages, and aside from a little tinkering with it I’ve done very little. So I’ve started at the beginning again and decided to work through the tutorials before I dive in to make anything for myself.

Happily it all came flooding back to me when I got to it, and I was able to get going very quickly. One thing that surprises me though is that there seems to be no book about Reaktor. You can find books on almost all other major music applications, but none on Reaktor that I can find anyway.

Not that I’m planning to write one you understand.

Doctor Who: Zagreus

So I finished listening to this today, all 3 CDs. The cast was amazing. It looked like Big Finish had basically got everyone together who’d been in Doctor Who and got them into a single story (with a few exceptions). But the story wasn’t that good in my opinion. It was ok, and would have worked for a smaller cast, but I think there were almost too many people in Zagreus.

Still, I enjoyed it and it moves me on to listen to the next story.

What can you do with an old PDA?

I still have a number of old devices which are for the most part doing nothing whatsoever. So I started to wonder what I could do with them. Especially my Dell Axim x51. It’s a nice device, but I really don’t use it for music anymore, nor do I really use it for anything. It seems a shame to just sell it off as I’m sure I’d regret it. I’d like it to have a reasonable use for it.

So I’m going to have a nose around and see if there’s a way to get some more life out of it.
