When I say new, of course I mean, there’s a plug in board. This is a first. Sadly on the Olegtron 4060 site there’s no word about how to buy one of these. Which is a shame as I’d love to get hold of one. So I’ve contacted them to find out and hopefully get hold of one for myself.

At times wonderful, and at times totally frustrating too. That’s technology, my experience of it anyway. I do a lot of stuff with technology and I suspect I will continue to do that.
Old fashioned Cassette Recorder (biscuit tin)
I had one of these years ago. In fact, I had a number of these. But one that was very like this one. I think it was the Ferguson that was almost identical to this. It was excellent. Ok, not excellent, but really good for its time. I used it to record all sorts of things and amassed a huge cassette collection, and have very little of it left.
Even so, now I have a nice tin. I’ve decided to use it for field recording accessories. That seems like an appropriate use for it.
And I got this too
I should mention that I also got this windjammer too. I think that this is a bit of an essential too for real field recording. I feel properly set up now!
More h2n goodies
I also got the accessory kit for the h2n. It really is a bag of goodies, with a hard case, remote, tripod, handle, AC adapter and more. I think it is actually a little bit of a necessity really. Especially the hard case.
Now that’s an excellent Christmas present
I’ve wanted a dedicated field recorder for ages, and this year I got one for Christmas. A lovely Zoom h2n. It is excellent and just the right size. I’ve just started to use it, but I can see a lot more field recording happening soon!
Things to wait for in 2016
I am really looking forward to this next year. I’m so glad that they got over the line with their Kickstarter and are well on their way to delivering.
Is it worth getting the 6s or waiting for the 7?
I’ve been thinking about this ever since the 6s came out and 3D touch was announced. It is of course the 3D touch feature that I’m most interested in. Aside from that it is just another iPhone. But I’m torn. Should I wait for the 7, which will invariably have more features and I might want one of those, or should I dive in now and get a 6s and use the 3D touch?
I’m not sure. The cautious part of me says to wait, but I’m not sure it’s right this time.

For me this was a great thing. Setting up the Handera 330 and the bC-16 together. That was so cool. Using apps like Theremini and BeatPad and Hedghog.
Crafty Robots
Yep, they’ve arrived, and in good time for Christmas. I backed these on Kickstarter and I’m looking forward to playing with them over my Christmas break. There’ll be a video I’m sure!
