TRG Pro

I was thinking about my old TRG Pro the other day so I put batteries in it and it fired up straight away. What a great old piece of hardware!

What am I going to do with it? Good question. I think I might see what I can do with it MIDI wise, and I might even connect it up to some other handhelds if I can.

When did Processing get updated?

I only just realised! The new version seems to have a lot more, although not the ‘export signed package’ functionality as yet. Even so, It’s a big step, so that’s something else to spend some time with at the weekend. I might even get another sketch out.

Thingamagoop and the Monotrons

That would be a good name for a band wouldn’t it? Anyway, I plugged my Thingamagoop 2 into my original Monotron aux and that into my new Monotron Delay. How much more fun can you have?

Anyway, I’ve recorded the noises and I’m going to do some manipulating with them, so you can expect the end result up on SoundCloud soon enough.

Cryptoclash

As this is a Nic Collins app I thought I’d give it a go, but so far I’m not sure it lives up to his previous creations, which have been excellent and truly innovative.

Perhaps I just need to give it a bit more time?

Cryptoclash - Nicholas Collins

Something for the weekend?

I bought this kit a while back and still haven’t done anything with it, but my plan is to change that this weekend. Hopefully I’ll have a bit of time to myself to get the soldering iron going without distraction.

That Tweakybeat screen

I really do like tweakybeat, and one of the reasons that isn’t obvious is that it is really straightforward and simple to use. The interface is completely no nonsense.

If you don’t know it, then you should.

I wish I could build a drum machine like this.

Nanoloop work in progress

Another work in progress piece. I find it interesting that different music apps make you work in different ways and inspire different musical styles. I really should try doing something radically different with Nanoloop. Perhaps with the next track.
