Doctor Who, The Paradox Planet
Another good story in the latest 4th Dr series. I was really getting into this one when I was listening to it, then I discovered it’s a two part story! I can’t wait to find out the rest!
The War Doctor, Infernal Devices
I’ve only just got this even though it came out a little while ago, and, based on how good the first one was it should be pretty amazing actually. So I’m really looking forward to listening to it soon. Very soon I hope.
Torchwood, The Victorian Age
I have to say that I wasn’t looking forward to this story. It just didn’t appeal to me at all. However, I got it, and listened to it yesterday, and I have to say that I was really impressed. It was a great story. A real caper! I enjoyed the whole thing and I’d say that it’s probably one of the best since Big Finish started this series of Torchwood audios.
4th Doctor … The Labyrinth of Buda Castle
This really is a cracking 4th Doctor story. Just excellent. Like the old days really. A good chase around. A great villain, and I won’t say any more just in case you’re actually deciding to buy it and listen to it.
Anyway, as you can guess, I loved it.
So Now I’ve listened to Torchwood, More Than This
Whilst broadly speaking I’ve enjoyed the latest series of Torchwood on audio I haven’t been blown away by it. However, having said that I think that this episode is by far the best so far. It’s touching, funny, and action packed, and probably best of all it has Gwen in it, which is never a bad thing. I think it’s only fair to say that I’ve enjoyed this much more than any of the other episodes to date. I hope that they do more like this.
Torchwood, More Than This
Apparently this is the last in this series of Torchwood, although series 2 starts next month. Anyway, it looks like an interesting story and I’m looking forward to hearing it as it feels like a long gap since the last episode. Although I know it isn’t in reality.
Doctor Who, The Feast of Axos
I got this on sale at Big Finish, and, as I do quite like Colin Baker’s audio stories I thought it would be a good one. To be fair it isn’t bad at all, it’s ok. It’s part of the main range, which is about 200 stories. The main range is where I found Big Finish, with the first few Paul McGann stories. I keep meaning to go back to the main range and see what I should get.
I must do that soon.
Torchwood: Uncanny Valley
I listened to this yesterday. Not a bad story if a little one dimensional. The idea isn’t a new one, but, as often with Torchwood, was taken much further than I’ve seen it taken before, and possibly would have liked to have seen (or rather heard) it taken before.
I didn’t feel it moved the story arc on any further though, not really. That was a bit of a wasted opportunity in my view. There isn’t anything more known about the arc than at the start of this episode. I’ll stick with the series, but I’d like to see (hear) it move forward a bit more than it is right now.

A massive Happy Birthday to my favourite Doctor of all time! 82 today and still making great Doctor Who episodes with Big Finish.
