I like the idea of these little programme things that you can wear around your neck and are just loose laminated cards with the running list for each stage, but they’re not nearly as easy to use as you think they might be, and in the end, I’d actually prefer a good old paper programme.

Christian Fennesz setting up for Field Day
I really liked the fact that he had a load of his cables and bits and pieces in a plastic carrier bag. I found that sort of endearing in a way.
Listening to Grimes, Visions
I heard Grimes at Field Day yesterday, and hadn’t heard her / them before, so I thought I’d find something on Spotify and give it a listen. So far I really quite like the sound, but I think I’ll need to listen to more to develop a better view.
I’ve joined ‘This is my jam’
So if you want to see what my jam is for this week, you can take a look over here.
Some pictures from Field Day
Some random photos from the Field Day festival I went to today. I’ll post some more stuff about what I liked etc tomorrow or soon anyway.
Sucker Punch
I watched this the other night. I wasn’t entirely sure what my expectations of the film were, but whatever they were, having watched it I can say that it is a thoroughly amazing film. In same ways the way it is constructed on a number of levels makes me think of Inception, which is a major favourite of mine.
As for the story itself, it is both moving and highly inventive. I really enjoyed it and certainly didn’t see how it was going to turn out. On the whole I’d thoroughly recommend it.

Concretedog on projects and purpose
I really liked this post from the ever interesting Concretedog. I absolutely agree with his thoughts on this.I’d probably go further and say that an element of experimentalism in everything is worth attempting.
So, make, experiment, learn stuff, and most of all, have fun doing it.
Big Finish: Gallifrey
I mentioned that I was going to try out some of the spin off series from Big Finish. I’ve listened to the first episode of this, and it isn’t bad. Lalla Ward and Louise Jameson don’t do a bad job of carrying this story very well.
Quite enjoyable really. I’ll seriously consider getting the next one, in a while anyway.
