It’s always lovely to have Mr Concretedog over. This time he came to work on the SoundLab Play Space event with me, and I have to say that I couldn’t have done it all without him. He brought a little gift this time. A badge he made with his own CNC. Cool yeah?
I posted this the other day but I’m just so pleased to have been asked and for it to have been published that I thought I should post a like to it again today. It’s on the Disquiet site now, go take a look.
It was great to get asked to be interviewed by Marc at Disquiet. It’s a site that I’ve read for a very long time and it’s awesome to be interviewed there.
I was quite surprised that it was actually quite a small exhibition for a character as important as Ada Lovelace. Even so, it was a nice little exhibition with some interesting facts. I’m sure they could’ve found more, I’m sure they could’ve got hold of more stuff about her, but anyway, I’m glad that they at least had an exhibition about her. That’s something.
I went to see Bare Conductive the other day to talk to them about the SoundLab event we’re running at NESTA later this month. Bare Conductive is just one of so many companies who are being super helpful.
I’ve been a fan of Bare Conductive for a long time now and they’re doing even more interesting things with the TouchBoard and conductive ink. I hope to be able to show you what I’m doing with the TouchBoard and how we’re going to use it at the SoundLab playspace event, so expect some more posts on the subject soon.
“Scheduled for a mid-September release on Confront Recordings; Playing The Schoolhouse, a new CD EP length composition by David Sylvian recorded in March of this year in Norway. Based on an improvisation by Jan Bang and Sylvian it also features contributions from Otomo Yoshihide and Toshimaru Nakamura. More news to follow soon. www.confrontrecordings.com“
I was really pleased to hear this. His last work with Jan Bang was amazing, although it required some very close and concentrated listening. However, it was immensely worthwhile. I’m hopeful that this will be the same.
Sad, but of course not entirely unexpected to hear of Christopher Lee’s passing. He was great and his performances in Peter Jackson’s films were an excellent way to finish of a tremendous career. He will be sadly missed.
