Category: Mobile Applications
I’m a big fan of mobile applications. It started with the Palm OS and Windows Mobile, and has continued with iOS and Android. Who knows where mobile apps will go to next, it’s a journey, and an interesting one at that. If you’re looking for more on mobile apps then also check out the menu sections for pages on specific apps and things I’ve done with them.

I don’t experiment with it so much anymore, but I used to quite a lot before. I think I always wanted to find that perfect device that could do everything, and often the only way was with an emulator of some kind.
My videos: Electroplankton
One of the original forerunners of mobile music making. A game and a musical creation toy or art form. It was beautiful and inspired so much.
My videos: Pocket DJ … my first video on YouTube
A very early foray into the world of mobile music, and as such worth posting about again. These apps (although we didn’t call them apps back then) weren’t even real Palm OS apps. They were flash applets that ran inside the flash player on a Sony Palm OS device.
Strange what made sense back then. I’m struggling to think of a modern day equivalent of this.
Getting to grips with Editorial workflows
I’ve been using Editorial for a while now and never really got to grips with using the workflow functionality in it. That is up until now. I found an actual use for workflows. I won’t bore you with what I’m using workflows for, but I’ve start using it in some very simple ways. Just using simple dialogues and markdown to record information.
It works. It saves me time, and it’s useful. That’s a good combination as far as I’m concerned. I’m hoping that I’ll continue to find new ways to make use of Editorial’s workflow as it has loads of capabilities, and as yet I’m just scratching the surface of what it can do.
So, hopefully you’ll be hearing more about my use of Editorial workflows in the not too distant future. Who knows, I may even share a few!
And then this arrived

So I’m really looking forward to making some noise with it soon. At least when I can find my old Gameboy and get it charged up too.
