According to them there’s going to be a bunch of deals coming today, starting from 9am. So it could be an expensive day really! Who knows (pun intended). I’ll be watching their site like a hawk of course and if there’s something truly startling I may even post about it. We’ll see.
Category: Books and Audiobooks
Well, this category is about books. Not just reading, but often for me, listening, as I do love audiobooks a lot. Although you can probably tell that by now.
Survivors Series 4 is coming in June
I’m a big Survivors fan. I’ve watched both the 1970’s and most recent TV versions and the Big Finish audio series 1 through 3. So I am looking forward to the next installment. I like how Big Finish have taken the whole thing in a different direction in a way whilst also staying consistent with the original book. That’s something that the 1970’s TV show didn’t entirely manage.
I’m really glad that Big Finish is maintaining the series and developing it, and also using a number of the original actors as well. They do it so well. Long may it last.
The War Doctor, Box 2 covers
Doctor Who, The Paradox Planet
The War Doctor, Infernal Devices
Torchwood, The Victorian Age

I have to say that I wasn’t looking forward to this story. It just didn’t appeal to me at all. However, I got it, and listened to it yesterday, and I have to say that I was really impressed. It was a great story. A real caper! I enjoyed the whole thing and I’d say that it’s probably one of the best since Big Finish started this series of Torchwood audios.
4th Doctor … The Labyrinth of Buda Castle
So Now I’ve listened to Torchwood, More Than This

Whilst broadly speaking I’ve enjoyed the latest series of Torchwood on audio I haven’t been blown away by it. However, having said that I think that this episode is by far the best so far. It’s touching, funny, and action packed, and probably best of all it has Gwen in it, which is never a bad thing. I think it’s only fair to say that I’ve enjoyed this much more than any of the other episodes to date. I hope that they do more like this.
The next installment of the War Doctor is coming on Monday
It’s come around a lot quicker than I expected actually. I did enjoy the first one, although not as much as the BBC’s take on the War Doctor, and that didn’t even have John Hurt in it. So I’m expecting more, a lot more, from this next Big Finish installment. It should be good. There’s no new set up or intro to do, it should be straight into story and that’s that.
Hopefully they’ll deliver.
