A new version of Thicket is out. I really liked the original version, it was excellent, and really engaging for people who hadn’t used an iPad before. I’ve only briefly played with the new version so I’m not sure as yet if it’s as good. It does have a bunch of in-app purchase options, and I might try one just to see what they’re like.

New Toy, sort of
I’ve thought about getting a Tapwave Zodiac for a long time, but never bothered, but I saw this one on eBay, and even though it didn’t have a cradle or cable for charging I decided to go for it, and for £4 (just over) it’s not bad going.
Having said that, I thought I could pick up a charger or cradle quite easily. Sadly, that hasn’t been the case so far, but I’m on the look out. Until then it’ll sit around sadly doing nothing until I can get it up and running again.
I’ve got one of these, not many people can say that!
I met up with Tim Cole from Intermorphic on Tuesday and he gave me this. One of only three Intermorphic mugs in the world.
It is awesome!
CP 1919
As I mentioned The Strange Agency’s new app ‘MegaCurtis’ the other day I thought I’d give CP 1919 a run again as I haven’t used it for a while. What an amazing app for very experimental sounds. I think I love all of the Strange Agency’s work, but I’m not sure I could pick a favourite out from their apps.
Thinking about Spotify again
I saw the presentation from Spotify at the AppSide event on Tuesday and it got me thinking about trying out Spotify again, but something keeps me sitting on the fence and I don’t know why. Maybe I should just try it out for a month or two and see if it works for me or not.
A couple of things for Bhajis users
If you don’t use Bhajis Loops then please ignore this. For a long time I’ve had these two additional Bhajis Loops effects plug ins which I think are the only two ever made which weren’t created by Olivier. Anyway, the site they were on has gone now, but I thought I’d make them available for anyone who is using Bhajis Loops still.
You can find them here.
So, the iPad 3 arrives, but it isn’t the iPad 3
In many ways I’m pleased. It is after all, just a speed bump. They’ve upgraded a bunch of stuff, it’s faster, more memory etc etc. Nice. But nothing revolutionary in this iteration, and that’s fine with me. I think it is like the 3GS was to the 3G. The next iPad will be a significant upgrade. I hope to anyway. For now, I’ll try to order this one if I can even get onto the Apple store.
Something iPad-ish this way comes …
Today is the big day. The speculation ends, or at least I hope it will. Will Apple bring an iPad 3, an iPad HD, or even a 7″ iPad mini? Who knows, maybe a combination of the lot!
I just hope it gets here soon, that’s all.
The App Side – Music Apps, Beyond The Hype
I went along to this event by the AppSide last night and was impressed to hear mobile music creation tools mentioned quite a few times. Of course, the main focus was around mobile artist apps, which was interesting to a degree, but the data was probably the most interesting things. Turns out that music apps are sticky! Who knew?
