I don’t know if you can see it but just overlapping the Apple logo is that spinning thing that tells you that it’s doing something, or in this case, doing something for about 2 days. My jailbroken 3G finally broke and I had to wipe it to get it to do anything serious at all. Will I go back to a jailbroken 3G? Maybe, I’m not sure as yet quite what I want to do with the thing.
I very nearly missed it completely, but I’ll be sure that it’s in my diary for next year at the very least. I’m not even sure that I knew that there was a world poetry day, but now I do. So what am I going to do about it? Well at the very least I’m going to try to read some poetry today, as I haven’t done that for a long time.
I finally found the files I needed to get this emulator running on my somewhat underpowered Android phone. Guess what, it works really well. So far I’ve only managed to get a few things working, but so far so good. It may even be useful, especially as I have a hypercard player app too.

As you probably know I’ve been a big PDA / Palm OS fan for a long time. So I’ve started developing a way of navigating some of the remaining resources for anyone who is interested in this stuff. I’ll also be archiving and making files available where possible.
I went to see this film over the weekend despite the terrible reviews it has been getting. Part of me wanted to see it just because the reviews are bad, and also in part because I just don’t really trust anything that film critics say.
So, what was it like. Well, frankly, I enjoyed it. Sure, it isn’t some masterpiece, but I’ve seen much worse films, in fact much much worse. The story was ok, the characters were ok, there were one or two surprises and the effects were good. Most of all it didn’t seem to take itself too seriously. I liked that.
John Carter isn’t going to be remembered as a great film or maybe even a good film by some, but as a piece of entertainment I thought it did a good job and whilst I wouldn’t go out and buy the DVD, I’d almost certainly watch it when it comes out on TV in however long that now takes.
