Last month I bought a Humble Bundle of Big Finish Doctor Who stories. There were some really good ones in there, and I’m just finishing off listening to them. One of the last I’m listening to is “Seven Keys to Doomsday”, and the Doctor is played by Trevor Martin, also know as Doctor Who 3.5 as he did this story as a stage play inbetween Pertwee’s Doctor and Tom Baker’s. As I never saw the stage play it’s good to hear this.

I miss my pebble
I really do. I’m just sort of holding off until the Apple Watch arrives to see if that’s going to be good enough or better. I’m also interested in seeing what pebble can do to release a new updated version of pebble.
I like the idea of wearables and smartwatches, but so far they haven’t really done enough for me. I hope that’ll in change.
Searching for a pocket calculator
Well, I’ve searched and searched and can’t find a digital version of this anywhere. I really wish I could as their version is better than the original in my view.
Big Finish bringing back UNIT
Now that’s a great idea, and another thing for me to spend money on …
But of course, this would be much better …
After my last post it occurred to me that I have a much better machine for cassette playback. One that will almost certainly deliver better quality, and it was almost completely staring me in the face.
I think I might try this next!
Old 4-track gives me a new idea
I saw this the other day as I was looking for something else and had remembered that I’d bought it so I could retrieve some old 4 track tapes from complete obscurity. I had some notion that I’d revive the tracks and even add to them. Who knows if that would’ve ever worked out. However, at the time when I bought it I didn’t go ahead with the plan as this 4 track doesn’t have multiple track outs. It only has a stereo out, which kind of ruined the idea. My very first cassette 4-track was an X-15 which did have 4 outs, but sadly this doesn’t.
Anyway, as I saw it the other day I had a new idea of how to make this work. So, when I can get some time to set it up I might try and get it working.
If I do, you’ll hear about it. I it fails, we’ll never speak of it again …
Sorting out categories and tags
I decided that I really needed to do a little more on the categories and the tags on the site to make them all make more sense. So that’s what I’m going to be doing on and off for the next few weeks, or more realistically, for a lot longer than that. Anyway, hopefully it’ll make things easier to understand and find over time. That is my aim at any rate.
Making lumiphones …
I realised that I had another lumiphone kit from Technology will save us. So I thought I had to make it up. This one I’ve made exactly to the instructions, and it works perfectly.
Good to get soldering again.
Ok, it’s just a simple noise maker, it doesn’t do a huge amount, but it’s fun, and noisy.

The map
I am still a fan of the molecule synth and all its modules. I think it is a great idea, and when I was looking over old images I remembered that there was the promise of other modules too. My guess is that these are unlikely to happen now, but some of them would have been nice.
