Old but not bad, that’s what I mean by vintage.
I had high hopes for this film, and they weren’t unfounded. I thought it was amazing. A really excellent film which took plenty of time to get going and tell its story. It didn’t decide to just be a block buster and use too many special effects, it was concerned with characters and the plot and allowing the story to unfold at its own pace. It was well worth going along with the ride.
I hope that they make another, in fact, I hope that they make loads more of them.
Another awesome looking story from Blake’s 7 and Big Finish. I’m really looking forward to hearing this one soon.
I have been really enjoying this season of Blake’s 7 stories, the arc has been great and each individual story has been good on its own as well, and this story was no different at all. The cast are really good together and the production quality is very high.
I think I might have to listen to them all again even before the next one is out.
Another amazing story from Big Finish. It’s always great to hear Geoffrey Beevers as the Master, and excellent to hear Michael Keating in a Doctor Who story.
This was an excellent story too. There’s real depth in this one, and the development of Leela’s character is really interesting too. In fact this whole series has been excellent so far. I’ve been very impressed, and this story isn’t any different.
So I’ve watched the whole of season 1 of Space 1999. It was good, I enjoyed it. It is slow, philosophical, and sometimes very strange, but I still enjoy it. The question is, what do I do next?
The most likely outcome is that I’ll buy season 2 on iTunes as it’s very cheap. There are another 24 episodes and then that’s it. Nothing more, but I’d like to see them and follow the whole thing through.
Another great Blake’s 7 story from Big Finish, which follows on very nicely from the previous episode. I’m hooked on these now!
I really should have subscribed to the latest Blake’s 7 series. It is excellent. I love that it’s a full cast drama rather than a narration. These stories are so like the original TV series that they’re a joy to listen to.
I listened to this again today, a great story, a really good jaunt back to the original series. I think I’m going to have to give in and start buying the latest series.
Having just watched Survivors (the last BBC version) for the third time (I think), I hear today that Big Finish are releasing a version of the classic TV series as an audio book. Their series 1 will be 240 minutes long and features, amongst others, Louise Jameson.
I don’t begrudge big finish, it’s just that they seem intent on releasing excellent content that I want to buy, resulting in me having to spend loads of money with them. On the one hand I don’t want them to stop, and on the other, actually I don’t want them to stop at all. I’d rather they just kept it up as it goes.
