Paul’s Shruthi-1

A really nice example of the Mutable Instruments Shruthi-1 in steam punk style. Sounds awesome too!

I posted this over at Palm Sounds as well this morning, but I wanted to put it here as well.

Monotron cases

My new Monotron cases arrived and they’re lovely. I always like cases for things, especially little cases and it doesn’t get much littler than a monotron really.

Hyperspace 3D

Another app from the incredible Strange Agency. I’ve only had a brief amount of time to play with it, and it is fun so far, but not as initially impressive as MegaCurtis was when I first got that.

And, for the record. My favourite app from them is still Donut. Hands down.

App revisit: Vocoder SV-5

Another older app that I admit hasn’t been used too much for a while now. It is a good app, with lots of possibilities, but again, it hasn’t seen an update for a while, and for that matter YUDO haven’t done an update for a long time on any of their music apps.

App revisit: Noise IO Pro Synth

Noise IO Pro is arguably the first synth for the iPhone/Touch. It’s still pretty amazing to this day. Amidio haven’t done anything with it for a long time, although I thought there was a suggestion that they were going to issue an HD version or an update of some kind. Still, it’s worth remembering this app as a real groundbreaking event in mobile music history.

Generator by Keith Fullerton Whitman

I’ve listened to this album a few times now and I’ve really enjoyed it each time. It’s a good album to work to. I enjoy how it builds and develops and how the pieces fit together.

I bought the album after reading an interview with him in The Wire which was really interesting.

Lost Microbes …

I posted this picture on instagram yesterday. I was having a great time playing with Microbe on my old Treo 650. Then suddenly, all the files disappeared. Which was a bit of a shame as I hadn’t played any of them for ages, and one or two I thought were actually worth saving.

I’ve no idea if anything can be done to recover them, I guess I’ll have to have a nose around the old forum to see if there’s anything there that helps. If not, well, that’s a shame.
