Another act from last weekend’s trip to Under the Bridge. Whilst it was just him and the Bad Manners backing band it was still good and he did loads of the classic from the late 70’s and early 80’s that everyone wanted to hear.

I love music. Making music, listening, talking about it and anything else too.

This was last Sunday at Under the Bridge in Fulham. A really nice venue, I’ve always liked going there for gigs. This is one I went to last year as well. The same venue, the same line up, and close to the same date too.
I do enjoy the Pukes, I’ve never listened to their stuff except for live, so this year I’m going to try something different and listen to their recorded stuff to.
My annual check on just how many of their top albums of 2015 I’ve heard or even own. It’s not usually that many sadly. Maybe this year I’ll do better. We shall see. Of course it also serves as good place to start listening for next year too.
I’ve also got some stuff on bandcamp too. You can find it here. It’s from my original idea for an idea of tracks that were all a minute long. For the most part all the tracks were made with Bhajis Loops and other mobile music apps pre-iOS.
Just thought I’d post my SoundCloud profile if you fancy a listen.
I nearly missed it but found their tweet this morning letting me know that the song of theirs that I love so much “Crease in his hat” is on iTunes, and Amazon, and, after a tiny bit of looking, it’s on Spotify too. All of which is brilliant.
The best thing was that they got in touch with me at all. It reminds me of how different things are these days. There was a time when it was really difficult to get in touch with bands or musicians you liked. These days they get in touch with you!
OMD are playing the Royal Albert Hall next May, and I’ve got tickets. They’re going to play Dazzle Ships and Architecture and Morality too. Dazzle Ships was one of their more experimental albums but actually one of the ones I liked the most. I thought it was a really interesting album and I’ve always enjoyed it.
So I’m looking forward to seeing them live again, but it’s a long time to wait.
I noticed that they were playing at the O2 Shepherd’s bush next month and remembered that there was a lot of talk early this year about a new album. In fact, when I went to see them play last they even did a few tracks from the new album. So it got me to thinking about where that album had gone.
I hope it’ll still come out as I was really pleased to hear that they’d decided to go back to making studio albums again. So I hope it doesn’t just disappear.

I went to see the Selector last Friday at the Clapham Grand. It was an awesome gig. I was never a massive fan of their stuff although I liked the singles “On my radio”, and “3 minute here”, but it was great to hear them live. They had so much energy and enthusiasm and the crowd loved every minute of it.
I haven’t rushed out to buy their stuff or anything, but I’m glad I went to the gig and saw them. It was well worth it.
