If you’re wondering what that is, it’s Apple and cinnamon. They served this at what used to be the tiny tea tent, and is now ‘Mr T’s’. A bit of a shame, I thought that the tiny tea tent sounded better, but never mind. It’s still an awesome drink.

Amazing what people make
Something from Beyond The Border. I saw this in the blue garden this weekend. Beautiful. But then, that’s what you expect form Beyond the Border. So glad I went this year again.
Been to Beyond the Border
Once again it was Beyond the Border this year. The international Storytelling festival in Wales. Another good one too. I really enjoyed it. I’ll be posting some more pictures and memories of this year’s festival soon enough.
Looking forward to Field Day
I’m off to the Field Day festival for the day on Saturday. Most of all I’m looking forward to seeing Fennesz and Laurel Halo, but I’m also quite open to whatever else I might hear. It’s quite nice to go along to events like this one and just seeing some new music and having a nice day out.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

This was the location for the Music Tech Fest event I went to on Saturday. It really is a lovely building, and I bet it is an excellent environment for teaching and learning.
The Veteran Programme
Ok, my last post about the veteran car rally for this year anyway. I’ve never had a programme from the rally before, so it was great to get one this year after so many years of watching the event.
The Scott Monument
I climbed the Scott Monument on my last day in Edinburgh. The last time I was in the city it wasn’t open to the public. Although that was a long time ago now.
I’m glad I did it. It was certainly an experience, but not for everyone I shouldn’t think, and certainly not in very heavy wind and rain.

About The Ethometric Museum
I was at the Edinburgh festival at the end of August this year and saw a bunch of shows. Some good, some not so good, some amazing. The Ethometric museum fell into the last category without a doubt.
We arrived at the venue and waited for the start of the show. We didn’t know what to expect at all. Just before the show was about to start a woman in a tweed suit asked us if we were here to see the Ethometric museum. We went with her out of the venue and around to the back of the building. She explained that we would need to wear hard hats for the duration of the show.
We went into a cellar under the building that was dimly lit and filled will racks of strange looking old machines. They looked like something out of the 1950’s. The woman gave us a 5 minute talk about the Ethometric museum and then explained that we would need to be completely silent during the demonstration.
What followed was an incredible performance of noise makers and synths that I absolutely loved. It was a triumph of making and music. The instruments were so beautifully made and the sounds so unique, it was a superb experience.
