Seem to be getting reasonable power consumption on my new Pebble Time

IMG_6742

When it arrived it had 80% charge and that lasted about 3 days in total. That was with a fair amount of use too, so I don’t think that’s too bad at all really. I can’t really remember how long the old one used to last as I haven’t used it in ages, but 3 days is ok I think. It’s longer than I get from my iPhone anyway.

The wisdom of Pullo

I was a big fan of Rome when it was on and I think I’ve watched it several times since then. One of the best things about Rome was legionary Pullo and his amazing sayings. He came out with some absolute classics and I didn’t want them to be lost. So I had an idea to set up a twitter account which would tweet some of his best everyday.

So I’ve set up a twitter account which will tweet his wisdom every day. If you want to follow it, you can find it here.

So, no Utopia season 3 then

What a shame. I only just found out. I thought that the first season was brilliant and I really enjoyed the second season too, but with it left on a cliff hanger of sorts I’ve been occasionally wondering when the third series would turn up. So today I thought about it and decided to look it up only to find that it has been cancelled by Channel 4.

Even though it was hugely popular it turns out that season 3 isn’t going to get made for budget reasons. It’s a poor show in my view. A series as good as this doesn’t come along very often and for it to be cancelled is just nonsense. It’s a real missed opportunity.

How’s that Pebble then?

So, a couple of days into my use of the Pebble Time, how’s it going? Well so far so good. Today I was interested to see how the constant bluetooth LE connection would drain my iPhone 6. It seemed to add an additional drain, but not too much. So that’s a good sign, a good step forward.

Notifications are pretty good though. I quite like them even though they get a little bit annoying at times, but I think that’s more to do with my having too many on my iPhone anyway, so perhaps it’s a good prompt to clear those up.

Next I’m interested to see how I can do more with the Pebble and get it working for me in the way I’d really like it to. More of that soon though.
