This was a present from Miki which he gave me on the day we spent in London. What a completely awesome and amazing gift! This has some truly stunning stuff in it.
Category: Stuff
Yeah, just general stuff. Basically this is where I’ll put everything that doesn’t go anywhere else. You always need that kind of category right.
And then there was a new cassette
I actually really like cassettes. They’re such lovely objects. This is the first new cassette I’ve bought in years as they’re not easy to find any more. Chemical Tapes is a wonderful label that specialises in cassettes so I thought I’d give them a try out. I’ve not been disappointed so far at all.
Palm Sounds is 7 and there is cake
A really good Doctor Who blog
I just found this blog about classic Doctor Who called Classical Gallifrey. I doesn’t seem to have been updated for a few months, but there’s lots of interesting stuff in there.
Radio Times Doctor Who collectors postcards
I was lucky enough to get all of these when they came out. I’m not sure I’d call them ‘collector’s editions’, but they’re ok. A couple of them are superb pictures, the rest, not so much.
Sick sick sick
I hate being ill. I’ve been in bed all day and I feel terrible. It’s no fun being ill, not that I am ill very often. Even so, it’s horrible feeling sick and I end up just feeling sorry for myself.
It has been cold …
Pebble Watch Binary face
I had to make a little video of this, just to show how cool it is. I actually spent a little time remembering how to read a binary clock, and now that I can again, I love it.
First impressions of Pebble
So I’ve had the pebble for a few days now. I’ve got used to wearing it, which I didn’t think I would as I haven’t worn a watch for about 5 years now. So far I have to say I like it. The watch faces are nice, the notifications are great although a little erratic at times, and it doesn’t feel strange.
The down side is that it still feels like the interface isn’t quite there as yet. I know that there’s a new version of the firmware coming soon and that will sort out a lot of the problems that the pebble has and will make it more intuitive, and I’m looking forward to that. I suppose in many ways that signals that the pebble is a work in progress in some ways. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, in fact it’s quite fun seeing what’s coming next, and I can see that the improvements are being made.
Once the new firmware is out I think I’ll do another update after that and see how things have improved. For now, I think Pebble is quite good. I’m pleased I got one.
