I don’t get as much time to do field recording these days, but I do love sounds and I’m fascinated by them.
Field Recording: A short trip on the No. 38 bus
I recorded this yesterday whilst in London. I thought it was interesting to hear the sounds around the trip.
Managed to get a bunch of recordings today
I was out and about in London today and managed to get a handful of recordings, indoor and out. I haven’t had a chance to review any of them as yet, but I hope to do that tomorrow, and, if they’re good enough, I’ll get them up onto SoundCloud.
More soon …
Olegtron pictures
Olegtron samples available
Please feel free to use them however you see fit. But if you do make anything, then please let me know as I’d be very interested to hear what you make.
My Olegtron videos
I posted them on Instagram at the weekend, but now they’re on PalmSounds, and not YouTube I’m afraid. Also, I plan to release to sound files of the Olegtron soon too, probably on SoundCloud I expect, just for simplicity.
The London Sound Survey on SoundCloud
The London Sound Survey is amazing and hopefully I’m going to be submitting my own recordings there in the not too distant future.
The lovely Mute Synth II

I hadn’t played with this in a long time, which makes me sad. So I decided to get the MSII out again and give it a little play. It makes just as strange noises as it ever did, and is just as difficult to understand. So this time around I’m going to make a much more concerted effort to understand how to get it to do the things I want it to do.
That’s the plan anyway.
Field recording: The train to London pulls away as someone drags a large suitcase down the stair and I don’t help
Really this was just a test recording but I like the sound of the train pulling away.
Recho hasn’t worked for me, but why?
I had some high hopes for Recho, but as I was sort of spring cleaning apps from my iPhone the other day I noticed it and realised that I hadn’t used it in any way at all for months and month. So I had a look at the Recho web site and it’s still there and still going it seems. But every time I tried it even in London I couldn’t find very many sounds or stories or anything that had been left.
So I wondered if in fact it hadn’t been a big success in the UK? Maybe.
Is it worth giving it more of a go? I don’t know. Perhaps I should try again? Perhaps if I try it now I’ll find more stuff in London? I think it might be worth trying again, even for a few days, just to see if there’s more content and it might be fun.
